Biostatistics Faculty Position. Quebec

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Université Laval invites applications for a tenure track position in Biostatistics. Hiring will normally be at the assistant professor level and the appointment would start in the summer of 2014. PhD in Statistics in Bayesian Methods

Applications are invited for a three year postdoctoral research position to work on a multidisciplinary research project "Simulation Tools for Robust Automated Manufacturing". The project is a new collaboration between statisticians at the School of Mathematics and Statistics and engineers at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre at the University of Sheffield.

Vacancy for a 2 year Post-doctoral Research Assistant in the Statistical Analysis of Volcanic Data-streams, based in the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford.

We are looking for a researcher to work on the statistical analysis of real-time volcanic data-streams within the NERC-ESRC project ‘Strengthening Resilience in Volcanic Areas, STREVA, www.streva.ac.uk.

The PDRA will work with researchers in the UK and at volcano observatories overseas. The PDRA will investigate best practice for real-time processing, analysis and integration of data streams; and will apply new statistical tools  and signal-processing techniques to archive volcano data to assess the potential for developing automated operational alert systems for monitoring.

IV Jornadas de Intercambio de Experiencias de Innovación Docente en la Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena los días 27 y 28 de junio.

Estas Jornadas pretenden ser un foro de debate en el que se pongan en común experiencias en innovación educativa en las áreas de Estadística y de Métodos Cuantitativos. Las Jornadas están destinadas a miembros de la Comunidad Universitaria cuya actividad docente se centre en asignaturas de Estadística para cualquiera que sea la titulación en la que se imparta.
